About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Secretary/Chief Communications Officer to join our senior management team. This role combines administrative responsibilities with strategic communications leadership, overseeing internal and external communications to enhance AISC's visibility, engagement, and impact.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with AISC's mission and goals, enhancing visibility and fostering community engagement.
- Internal Communication: Ensure effective communication within the organization, keeping staff and volunteers informed and engaged.
- Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans and strategies as needed.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Event Management: Coordinate public relations and communications efforts for events, programs, and initiatives hosted by AISC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- Strong understanding of communications strategies, including digital and social media.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector or arts and culture organizations is preferred.
