About the Role



POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chairman of Education to lead our educational initiatives and programs. The Chairman of Education will play a pivotal role in shaping our educational strategy, curriculum development, and community engagement efforts. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and requires a dynamic individual with a deep commitment to education, arts-based interventions, and social change.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Educational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all educational programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

  • Curriculum Development: Oversee the design and implementation of innovative arts education curricula that promote creativity, critical thinking, and social consciousness.

  • Community Engagement:  Foster partnerships with schools, community organizations, and cultural institutions to expand access to arts education and promote social impact initiatives.

  • Faculty and Staff Development: Recruit, mentor, and support a diverse team of educators and staff members committed to excellence in arts education and social justice.

  • Program Evaluation: Implement rigorous evaluation processes to assess the impact and effectiveness of educational programs, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement.

  • Advocacy and Outreach: Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for arts education and social change initiatives, representing the organization in public forums and cultivating donor and stakeholder relationships.


QUALIFICATIONS: 

- Advanced degree in Education, Arts Administration, or a related field. PhD preferred.

- Proven leadership experience in arts education or nonprofit management, with a minimum of 7 years in a senior management role.

- Deep understanding of current trends and best practices in arts education, curriculum development, and community engagement.

- Strong commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and the arts.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders, including educators, students, donors, and community partners.

- Strategic thinker with a track record of innovative program development and implementation.
